ABOUT ART & ME

I’m Cat — a Cape Town based artist & the creative force behind PSYXOLOGY. Every piece of artwork you see on this site is sketched & scribbled & designed by me. I believe that art belongs out there in the world, not stuck on a wall. So, I find great joy in seeing it in movement on clothing and accessories.

PSYXOLOGY is where my weird art meets fabric and you get to be my canvas. My designs carry a bit of the ocean, the mountains, the city, and the quiet chaos of life in between — psychology you can wear.

The designs are inspired by moments & travel & places & people.

Random bits of facts and fun:

I have a Psychology degree…yes it inspired the name. And I happen to like the concept of the human mind creating art through experience.

I’ve been a photographer, a web-designer & a graphic designer & I am a currently a fiction ghostwriter. Anything expressive pulls me like a magnet.

I have a dog named Rocket. She is my chaos and my heart.

I love water. Salted oceans, clear rivers, ice swimming & free diving… if there’s water; I’m in it. It can be raining & rolling thunder… I’m still going swimming.

I have almost 2kg of titanium rods, bolts and plates in my legs…but that’s a story for another day.
